[Review.Series] Sherlock - The Empty Hearse.2014

Saya sehubung pemilik blog yang sudah lama terlantarkan ini mendoakan sukses dan bahagia selalu untuk para pirsawan dan pirsawati sekalian.

Bagaimana perayaan Tahun Baru kalian? Semoga menyenangkan ya. Mari kita awali 2014 dengan kesenangan.

Nah, keriaan Tahun Baru tidak selalu diisi dengan pesta sampe mabok dan berbagai perayaan hedonisme. Ada beberapa orang [baca: TV series geek, or something like that] menemukan keriaan lain dalam hingar bingar Tahun Baru ini, berupa lanjutan sebuah serial dari Britania Raya, yang berhasil membuat jemaat fandom-nya stres bukan main dua tahun lalu, ketika series finale-nya diputar.

Yup, Sherlock. Detektif gendeng yang membuat nama Benedict Cumberbatch laris manis seperti timun suri di bulan Ramadan.

Anyway, blog entry kali ini tidak ada kemungkinan mengandung babi, sehingga masih halal, tetapi besar kemungkinan mengandung SPOILER, jadi kalau pirsawan dan pirsawati belum menonton Sherlock, episode The Empty Hearse, bisa menunda dulu membaca blog saya ini, dan membuka YouTube untuk menonton mini-episode prekuelnya, Many Happy Returns. 

Long story short, the newest episode of Sherlock took place two years after the heartbreak of hobbit Jude Law John Watson (Martin Freeman), who saw with his very own eyes how the man he loved admired jumps to his death, and how he turned straight afterwards the miracle he had expected didn’t come. And he found shelter in the arms of a beautiful woman.
 
Because he didn’t need one.

Dan layaknya seorang mantan pacar terindah yang kurang ajar, Sherlock muncul ke hadapan John ketika sang dokter mau melamar pacarnya, dan tentu saja ujung-ujungnya menjadikan Sherlock halal untuk dikonsumsi melibatkan John ke sebuah kasus. 

Right, I’ll start my rambling now.

Untuk sebuah pembukaan yang telah dinantikan selama dua tahun, menurut gue episode ini sangat, sangat spektakuler. Nggak kaya sebuah edisi khusus ulang tahun ke-50 sebuah serial Inggris klasik gitu deh. It’s a roller coaster of fun and thrill. It’s probably the most fun this series ever had since its premiere in 2010. Gue merasa kalau keceriaan episode ini ada di tangan penulisnya, Mark Gatiss. Well, at least that’s the only name on the opening credit. Nggak ada kekusutan storyline ala Steven Moffret Moffat Kamfret Moffat.

Oke, selain pemunculan Sherlock, semua karakter di serial ini terlihat lebih terbuka dan warmed up to each other. Sedikit demi sedikit latar belakang terbuka. My personal favourite would be the Holmes brothers.

Yep, di episode ini hubungan abang-adek maha cerdas ini terlihat lebih manusiawi daripada sebelumnya. Bahkan, orang tua mereka juga menampakkan diri, diperankan oleh orangtua Benedict Cumberbatch yang sebenar-benarnya.

And, damn, Mr. Gatiss deliver the reunion scene very fookin' well! Selama lima menit Sherlock dan John bertemu lagi, rasanya kaya diblender. Ketawa geli pas lihat John nggak ngeh kalau orang yang di sampingnya itu Sherlock, dan ketika Sherlock akhirnya menampakkan diri ke John (dan mengganggu lamarannya), sampai ... John meng-headbutt Sherlock.
Nggak ngerti mau ketawa atau nangis liatnya ...

Kalau di film Sherlock Holmes buatan Guy Ritchie terlihat Mary tidak begitu suka sama Sherlock, di series ini justru Mary (Amanda Abbington, Martin Freeman's real life adorable and cute partner) dan Sherlock terlihat ikrib layaknya seorang gay dan fag hag-nya.
Apakah ini karena masih permulaan, atau nantinya Mary juga akan semakin keki pada Sherlock?  
We’ll see, karena berdasarkan pengamatan dua kali nonton episode ini, sifat Sherlock sudah sedikit berubah, lebih ceria dan playful, walaupun masih tidak mengerti konsep hubungan antar manusia.

Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gatiss) dan Greg Lestrade (Rupert Graves) yang di dua series awal sangat kaku dan selalu tegang, di The Empty Hearse juga lebih laid back dan santai, cenderung onyon, tapi membuat mereka terlihat lebih manusiawi dan bukan hanya sekedar pelengkap yang muncul every now and then, sekedar mengucapkan kalimat-kalimat pendek yang menghibur.
 
Episode pertama series 3 ini terasa seperti ucapan terima kasih dan permintaan maaf sekaligus dari tim Sherlock. Ucapan terima kasih karena fandom-nya mau bersabar menanti kelanjutannya, dan permintaan maaf karena membutuhkan waktu yang sangat, i repeat, SANGAT lama untuk mereka sampai menyajikannya.

Selama tiga jam (saya nonton dua kali, ingat itu) menikmati tontonan ini, terdapat beberapa fan service yang disajikan, mulai dari hubungan Sherlock dan John yang semakin mesra, Sherlock dan Molly (Louise Brealey) yang nggak mungkin, lupakan sajalah iya-enggak-iya-enggak, bahkan Sherlock dan Jim yang ... menggemaskan.

 Oh yeah.

Yes, Andrew Scott made an appearance here, and he looked dashing as ever as Sherlock's nemesis.

Satu lagi yang membuat gue sedikit histeris bahagia ketika menonton episode ini adalah preview sang kakak ipar Mikkelsen di ujung episode.  

Yup, those are Lars Mikkelsen’s blue eyes. I think he will be Sherlock’s next major nemesis, after Jim Moriarty, Charles Augustus Magnussen.

January is the month of the big brother, and February will be the little brother with his Hannibal.
So, 2014 started with some Scandinavian flavour, yes?

[Review] In Treatment Season 1

finally! In Treatment!
i've been waiting for ages to lay my hands on these series!
yes, i'd known this series since 2007. where the news about it first came out. not after the Golden Globe winning, unlike some people *yes, i'm being a bitch here*.










In Treatment ... well, as the title the series is about a therapy session of a psychiatrist, Paul, and his patients. each episode is half an hour long, and it reflects one session. so you will only find two people on each episode. at least, that's what i've seen so far. every patient has each problem of their own. and the set was simply in the doctor's house. entering from the front door and exiting from the back door. i like that.

you will join the doctor to listen every story given from his patient.
the first episode i've seen were about this girl who was in an unstable relationship with his boyfriend, until one night she had a chance to cheat on him, out of her pressure of the relationship, but she didn't do it. and what was the actual reson for her not doing so.

the second episode was about a navy soldier whose lastt task was to drop a bomb on an area, that was actually where a madrasah been held. the bomb killed sixteen children. curiously, after the task was done he went back to the post and sleep 'like a baby'. he claimed that he had no guilty concious whatsoever, and felt nothign when his face was spreaded around the net, and he was searched for killing the children.
instead he took a jog with his best friend, a doctor and also gay. suddenly he "died". without a light tunnel and no flashes of earlier life before his eyes. somehow, he went back to life and came to meet Paul. the actual reason for the soldier, Alex [wtf?!], to met Paul [WTF?!] was to have an advice. Alex was planning gong back to the site of the madrasah that he bombed.




Paul was dead clever. at one point, you would think that he was asking all the standard procedures a psychiatrist would say. but, he was not. he listens. he would listen, ask some somewhat sounded silly and lame question. but then, in the end, BAM! he would make a comment that hit the very target of the problem. not entirely, still the surface, but it hits.



and guess, what made it more interesting for me.
Paul has his own psychiatrist.
wicked.

when it was aired on HBO last year, the series was played five nights a week. one episode for one session on the same day it aired.

i need more episodes!!
i need more of Mr. Byrne!!

[Review] Supernatural Season 3

okay, so it's not a movie, but they don't have TV series there!

selama ditinggal orang tua gue kemaren, gue sakses menyelesaikan Supernatural season 3.

dan komen gue ... touching.

season ini bener2 touching. buat yg ngikutin, i assumed you all knew what happened to selingkuhan gue my other sex slave Dean Winchester. yup, jadi di season 3 ini the Winchester boys racing against time to do whatever it takes so we still can have Dean on the show.

Jensen Ackles: i still need to pay my rent, people!!
Dean: and i still want to be with my baby.
eLmo: *looks right* must ... not ... have ... kinky thoughts ... of Dean ... Jensen ... me ... inside ... Impala ...

ada 2 episodes yg menarik dari season ini, A Very Supernatural Christmas dan Ghostfacers.

Supernatural Christmas itu sangat mengharukan. gue paling miris pas Dean ngotot mau ngerayain Natal, dan Sam malah engga mau. they actually have the very same reason, tapi "extension"nya justru malah bertolak belakang sekali. bhu ... *bawa pulang Winchester boys, mandiin, kasih makan, boboin*

kalo yg Ghostfacers, gue suka konsepnya. Dean and Sam ga sengaja "terlibat" dalam sebuah acara reality show yg macam Dunia Lain gitu. sumpah kocak banget! gebleg.

as if having three hot and gorgeous men in this series is not enough [yes, three, ladies, don't forget the  source of all hotness, John Winchester, the father!], we will meet two other hot and gorgeous ... women in season three. Bela [Lauren Cohan] and Ruby [Katie Cassidy].

i love Bela. she's a dark haired bitch with an uber-sexy english accent.
damn woman! *spanks Bela*
Ruby was the blonde bitch. no, not as in i-wanna-kill blonde bitch. but demonic blonde bitch.

The Big Bang Theory [series.2007-current]

yes, i finally got the Big Bang Theory virus.
gue mulai nonton ini atas rekomendasi banyak orang, Sher, Resti dan Tintjeh.
awalnya sih nonton karena cari hiburan aja, tapi lama2 ketagihan XD

ceritanya sih simple, seorang gadis blonde [yes, quite both, literally and sarcastically] move in ke sebuah apartment yang berseberangan dengan tempat tinggal dan juga basecamp sekelompok geek dan nerd, yang bekerja sebagai profesor di sebuah universitas. gadis itu, Penny [Kaley Cuoco], langsung menarik perhatian sang pemilik apartment di seberangnya, Leonard [Johnny Galecki], yang tinggal bersama Sheldon [Jim Parsons], seorang geek totok. worry not, dear fellows, tidak ada cerita basi di mana Leonard dan Sheldon akan berebut perhatian Penny.
not until season 3, that is.

dan dari sinilah cerita berputar.














ceritanya simpel sebenernya, tetapi gue suka penuturan setiap masalah yang mereka hadapi setiap hari. mungkin bagi orang yang tidak memiliki ke-geek-an dan ke-nerd-an juga kepandaian seperti empat sekawan itu, masalah yang mereka hadapi tidak akan berpengaruh besar ke kehidupan manusia normal [kecuali yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan  manusia, tentu saja!].





yang bikin gue bener2 betah nonton ini adalah: melihat mereka dengan kegilaan akan Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, dan Star Trek, gue merasa sedang menonton acara motivasi yang untuk orang2 seperti gue. yah, mungkin Mario Teguh: The Golden Ways atau bahkan Ceriwis untuk orang lain.



gue suka pembagian karakter2 di sitkom ini. kuat, dan tidak saling menutupi. Leonard yang paling normal di antara teman2 geek-nya, memiliki hubungan tarik ulur dengan Penny, girl-next-door yang bekerja sebagai waitress di Cheesecake Factory, dan berusaha merintis karir sebagai seorang aktris. Sheldon yang luar biasa pintar dan kaku, ternyata memiliki kelemahan dalam hal sosialisasi. Howard [Simon Helberg], geek Jew yang genit amit-amit dan cenderung menyebalkan, masih tinggal dengan ibunya di sebuah rumah mungil. dan karakter yang hampir selalu ada di setiap sitcom remaja, seorang murid transferan, bernama Raj [Kunal Nayyar], yang tidak bisa berbicara dengan perempuan. tanpa bantuan alkohol.



my favourite character would be: Sheldon Cooper.


he's irritating, yet very adorable. gue bahkan suka sama style ngetok pintu dia!

dan setnya  pun juga lucu!
apartment-nya mungkin enggak segede apartment-nya Monica di F.R.I.E.N.D.S atau loft-nya Brian Kinney di Queer As Folk. but, hell, i would love to live in Leonard and Sheldon's apartment! with all those stuffs they owned! Leonard got the green light saber, for cryin' out loud!







and here's my favourite part, di setiap episodenya, kita akan melihat adegan yang nyaris selalu sama. siapa saja sedang berjalan dari lobi gedung menuju flat masing2. dan kamera begerak mengikuti mereka, dari belakang, dari samping dan dari depan. kita juga akan dikasih liat lift gedung yang sedang rusak. lengkap dengan pita kuning dan sign merah besar bertuliskan  OUT OF ORDER . buat gue, adegan ini trade mark banget!


God, i would love to do that climbing up the stairs to my own apartment!

nyweyz, buat kalian yang belum pernah menonton series ini, cobalah!
it's really entertaining!
i'd rather watch this than Glee :p
walalupun kalian pasti sebeeeelll banget sama beberapa karakter, but you can't help it. they're so adorable!

"it's not us that are monsters, it's THEM! i can't believe it took me this long to figure it out!"

imagine having those line delivered from a "vegetarian" vampire, who tried all his might living among us. humans.

ladies and gentlemen, i present to you, my current addiction in TV-series area, Being Human.

the story centred around three friends spiced up with supernatural issue. Mitchell [Aidan Turner], George [Russell Tovey] and Annie [Lenora Crichlow]. a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost respectfully. they shared a flat in quiet city of Bristol, Mitchell and George working in a local hospital. while Annie, since she can't do much in the neighbourhood now that she's a ghost, she stayed at home, taking care of the house, and making tea. lots of them. they live each day as normal as possible, while keeping low profile about their true self.


but, each one of them had their own demon to face. Mitchell is playing cat and mouse with a league of ancient vampire, trying to summon him to the dark side, living ye olde lifestyle of an undead bloodsucker, drinking from human. George still coping to the fate that he was bitten by a werewolf when he was on holiday in Scotland, and having a cruel transformation every month that might harm peple around him. and Annie was trying to figure out what went wrong in her death, that made her stayed back in limbo. and wondering if the relationship between her fiancee, Owen [Gregg Chillin] and the girl she always had suspicion of.

as other British series [that i've seen so far], it filled with spectacular scripts, fantastic dialogues and fabulous sense of dark humour. each character got their own uniqueness, and to be really honest, it's hard to pick which one to like the most. in characters, but since i'm one shallow bitch, i'll go for Mitchell. he's hot. and adorable!

the three of them was quite an item - yes in threes, not twos - it's hard to see any of them got a significant other. the romances between them is so strong, it had filled their own cup for the whole episodes!


so, if you're a fan for series such as The X-Files and Supernatural, i would recommend this for you.
